[simage=2295,400,none,both]

    Just came across your blog in preparation for our trip to San Diego, and thought we’d reciprocate and offer some suggestions on Philly.

    In addition to Morimoto, you should definitely check out the newest Iron Chef America, Jose Garces. He has four restaurants in Philly. Among them, our favorite would be Tinto, and then Distrito, Amada, Chifa, in that order.

    Amada and Tinto are both tapas, and you most likely need a reservation for weekends. They could cost an arm if you are not careful and order too much like we did last time. Lunch menu for Amada is quite limited, so you are better off going there for dinner. Tinto does have Sunday brunch, which is excellent and good value too.

    Distrito and Chifa are more modestly priced, and both are good for lunch (not open everyday, though). We did go to Morimoto about four years ago. Although very good as well, it’s just not as satisfying and exciting. Of course you’d be the judge if you have chance to visit these excellent restaurants.

    FYI, here’s a list from Philadelphia Magazine:

    Enjoy your trip to Philly.

    I appreciated your suggestions on Philly.
    It’s pity that I had come back to Chapel Hill, but I will try your recommendation next time.

    Actually, Philly has many unique eating places, one of these is Philly cheese steak, which is located at 4th and South. The other good restaurants worth to try is Starr’s restaurants. One of my favor is El Vez, not too expensive, very good Mexico food. Of course, there are many tradition and excellent restaurants.
    Definitely must to visit Philadelphia Orchestra; Fairmont Park near Art Museum; walk around Rittenhouse Square area; and many many more.
